Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Foods SoBe: ‘$7M Steak That Sh*ts Gold Rainbows’
While dishing on the food truck trend at the Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival (namely pointing out that food trucks are not a trend, and that mobile food has been around “since the time of Christ”), Andrew Zimmern was inevitably quizzed on the most bizarre foods he had come across while in Miami.
So what rare local delicacy triggered his boyish fascination with the grotesque?
“Probably the $7 million steak that I had at Prime 112,” Zimmern replied. Technically, it’s only $200, but still.
“This steak was so expensive and so good it got up off of my plate and shit gold rainbows. I was stunned,” he explained. “I was actually talking about it with somebody — it was worth it. It was a great steak.”
A real $7 million dollar steak that shat gold rainbows would probably have to be a horse steak. A very particular breed of horse with a very particular following of 7 year old girls, gay men, and gruff ex-badboy dads… Yeah we went there.
