WATCH: Anthony Boudain Reads From Snooki’s Novel To Commemorate Big Gay Ice Cream Shop
Quick: What the most culturally significant thing that Anderson Cooper and Anthony Boudain have in common? If you guessed that they’ve both now showcased dramatic readings of one Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s novel, then you would be correct (and our new best friend).
Yes, to salute the Big Gay Ice Cream dudes Doug Quint and Bryan Petroff on the first anniversary of their brick-and-mortar ice cream shop opening, Anthony Bourdain read an excerpt of the New York Times Best-Selling (not sarcasm) A Shore Thing, penned by the pint-sized guidette, herself. We have to assume, also, that this was Tony’s way of wishing Snooks congratulations on the birth of her bouncing bundle of hair gel, Lorenzo Dominic LaValle, who’s just rounding the two-week old mark. Aww, that Bourdain is such a softie.
So why choose It’s a Shore Thing to commemorate a one-year ice cream shop anniversary? Well, Anthony probably reasoned, such sentiments as “Life is hard, but a poof? That should be easy…” were appropriately universal during this time. He concluded, “‘After the year she’d had back home in Brooklyn, landing and losing a couple jobs and boyfriends, she deserved the sexiest summer ever.’ And don’t we all?”
We do, Tony!
We wonder what passage Big Gay Ice Cream Truck regular Ottavia Bourdain would have chosen to recite at the shop’s first birthday extravaganza? Oh, wait, Ottavia doesn’t have time to read; she’s too busy kicking ass.
Check out Anthony’s heartfelt well wishes below.
