WATCH: April Bloomfield Serves Enormous British Dinner For Breakfast

We are not so sure whether we’d be ecstatic or horrified if we woke up to the gargantuan spread of food that April Bloomfield brought to CBS This Morning, but one thing is certain: it is all so, so, tasty-looking and so April Bloomfield that we could probably force our stomachs to do the “eating a ribeye at 8:45 AM” thing.

Bloomfield, on the show to promote her biography A Girl And Her Pig, may have been pleasantly surprised at what Jeff Glor called her restaurant The Breslin — “Hogwarts for hipsters” — but she was all over her favorite comfort food in a very understated British-y way. And that comfort food is what we’d probably consider dinner: an aged ribeye, cooked medium rare and “kept nice and bloody” according to Rebecca Jarvis; mashed potatoes; Swiss chard and roasted vegetables; and an Eton Mess for dessert. That looks tasty and all, but at this point in the morning, we’ll stick to bacon and eggs and a gallon of coffee, thanks.

As for her New York experience, she revealed that the first time she was in New York, a friend dropped off a pastrami sandwich from Carnegie Deli before she hopped back on the plane to England completely “stuffed” with food from the whirlwind weekend. “It was amazing, actually, and I devoured it all,” she said, justifying every pastrami sandwich eater’s desire to just have one more sandwich.
