WATCH: Chick-fil-A CEO Reverses Reversal, Says That Company Still Supports “Biblical Families”

We’re gonna have to dust off the ol’ “Gay Marriage Cluster-Cluck” category for this one, in which Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy revealed to an Atlanta TV news crew that no, after the firestorm that resulted from the last time he opined on gay marriage, he hasn’t changed or budged on his opinion.

“Families are very important to our country,” he said to Atlanta’s 11Alive. “Families are very important, I think, to all of us that are concerned about being able to hang on to the heritage we have. And we support Biblical families, they’ve always been a part of that.”

(We’re assuming that he doesn’t support fathers who sleep with their daughters, or loners who build wives out of body parts.)

This statement stands in stark contrast to the reports that Chick-fil-A had withdrawn its financial support from controversial anti-gay rights organizations, though it should be noted that it’s highly possible for a company to have a stated position without actually funding anything. (They also never fully endorsed those claims, either, so their financial support is still up in the air.)

What really is surprising is that he’s made these statements after he reportedly invited the leaders of college diversity groups to a luncheon in Atlanta to discuss gay marriage.

See the full video below, and try to determine what the heck is actually going on before we start politicizing chicken again, or Art Smith explodes in a cloud of glittery righteousness.
