Chick-fil-A’s VP Of Public Relations Dies In Midst Of Media Controversy
This afternoon, Chick-fil-A released a statement saying that Donald A. Perry, Vice President for Corporate Public Relations, had passed away this morning due to a heart attack.
We are saddened to report the news to you that our dear friend Don Perry, vice president of public relations, passed away suddenly this morning,” the statement to local station WRBL read.
Don was a member of our Chick-fil-A family for nearly 29 years. For many of you in the media, he was the spokesperson for Chick-fil-A. He was a well-respected and well-liked media executive in the Atlanta and University of Georgia communities, and we will all miss him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
However, the sudden news coincides with a media firestorm surrounding his employer’s stance on gay marriage, including protests, parodies, and political debate.

How sad for this man. I hope no idiots try to politicize his passing.
My thoughts go out to his friends and family.
