Christina Tosi Has a New Cookbook, Milk Bar Life

Sweet and savory recipes? Mind = bomb emoji.

Milk Bar Life, a follow-up to Christina Tosi’s first cookbook, Momofuku Milk Bar, is more of a cookbook for the everyday working chef: recipes collected from “family meals, company outings, and meals cooked at home after a late shift,” according to Eater. And whatever Desperation Nachos are, we totally want all of them. “I wanted it to feel like you were walking into the doors of our kitchen, it was your first day at work, and we were going to teach you everything,” said Tosi about her newest cookbook.

Other recipes from the book include cookies (oatmeal and Thai tea cookies, yum), Tex-Mex curry, roast chicken, and more. So basically, it all sounds awesome. And we also get today’s Girl Power Quote of Inspiration™ from Tosi:

Not every chef is a great writer and great at putting those things into words. Most chefs are heady, we’re neurotic, we’re paranoid. It’s hard to feel strong enough to want to open up. Being humble is one of the most important things, and not being afraid to put yourself out there is important. I think really successful chefs put themselves out there on a daily basis. You can never fake authenticity, and I think the more authentic we can get — the stories, the recipes, the trajectory, and how you got to where you are, how this recipe got to where it is — the more of that, the better. Nothing replaces authenticity.

Girl is killing it.
