WATCH: Danny Bowien Has A Love-Hate Relationship With Sweet And Sour Sauce
In The Nowness’s latest video interview, they attempt to go into Danny Bowien’s mind — not through his beautiful hair, but via his innermost thoughts and desires.
In this trailer in particular, Bowien says some Deep Shit about sweet and sour sauce, embracing it awkwardly as a fallback sauce. “You sit around and beat yourself up about how to make these new innovative things, and how to push the envelope and take things a step further,” he says guiltily, “but the moment you put something sweet and sour, or General Tso’s on the menu, every table orders it.” He also takes a moment to apologize to his line cooks at Mission Chinese: he knows that sweet and sour sauce gives them stomachaches.
