WATCH: Tokyo’s Soup Nazi Forces David Chang To Eat Ramen In Complete Silence
Friday night’s episode of The Mind Of A Chef follows David Chang and renowned ramen chef Ivan Orkin to Tokyo, where they ogle masterful yakitori and overdose on sushi. The best part, however, is the visit to the notorious 69-n-Roll, a restaurant whose pompadoured chef insists that everyone eat their ramen in complete silence. What follows is some amazing ramen-based silent film acting, Charlie Chaplin-style.
“This guy is a very proud Soup Nazi,” says a satiated but befuddled Chang afterwards. “But at the end of the day, it’s just a very good bowl of ramen.”
