Trump Steak House In Las Vegas Shut Down After 50+ Health Violations

If for some reason, while enjoying your stay at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, you felt the urge to check out the hotel’s signature steakhouse DJT for hangover brunch, we’d recommend you stifle that urge and swim away. That caviar dolloped atop your blini? Likely over a month old. That healthy parfait you’re smugly ordering because you’re the only non-hungover person in all of Las Vegas this morning? Probably has expired yogurt in it.

These are conclusions we’re drawing based on a recent health inspection of DJT that actually shut down the restaurant after they failed it with 51 violations. They were housing a walk-in full of outdated, expired, unlabeled, mishandled and improperly stored food. Along with the old caviar and expired yogurt, inspectors also found two week-old veal stock and tomato sauce, expired peanut dressing and black bean chili, and duck that dated back to June. It’s like a college foodie frat boy’s kitchen back there. We’ll spare you the deets on all the improperly stored fish because we don’t want to ruin halibut and tuna for you, too.

Hotel management immediately overhauled the kitchen and the restaurant was reopened several hours later, apparently passing inspection. We really, really, really hope someone’s going back in two weeks to check the expiration dates again.
