WATCH: Duff Goldman Slams Anti-Gay Cake Decorator, Offers A Free Wedding Cake To Lesbian Couple

An Ace Of Cake Offer

A mysterious lesbian couple in Oregon is getting tons of attention after a local baker refused to bake a cake for their upcoming same-sex nuptials. The woman who ordered the cake had no problem having orders fulfilled from the shop before, but when she specified that this would be a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony, the owner refused to participate.

Enter our hero: Duff “Ace of Cakes” Goldman. He reached out to Huffington Post after stumbling upon the report, and they quickly streamed him in for a HuffPost Live segment.

“I saw this story, and I was like, wait, I can do something! There’s injustice involving a cake! I can fix this,” Duff eagerly explained. He then offered to make the couple’s dream cake instead and drive it to Oregon if they came forward, free of charge, “just to right this wrong, because this guy’s an idiot.”

Sweet Cakes Bakery owner Aaron Klein admitted to news outlets that he had refused to bake the wedding cake, but specified that he wasn’t necessarily “anti-gay,” saying, “I believe that marriage is a religious institution ordained by God.” Uh huh. Duff fired back:

“For a cake decorator to really feel like he needed to take a stand and say…’I’m not providing the sweet enjoyment for your wedding!’ It just makes absolutely no sense. It’s petty, it’s small…This guy has wrapped up his hatred in the cloak of religion. I mean, I’m Jewish, but if I was that guy’s religion, and I heard about this story, I’d be really mad at this dude. Like, wait, what did you do with my religion? What did you do in the name of who you say you and I are connected by? It’s terrible.”

We have our fingers crossed for a gorgeous, fondant-covered ending to this story. Check out Duff’s heartfelt offer above.
