Ferran And Albert Adrià To Open A Japanese Restaurant
The Adrià brothers are planning to open another restaurant… sometime in the foreseeable future. After their forthcoming Mexican joint is open and ready to go, Ferran and Albert Adrià want to open a Japanese restaurant in Barcelona.
Well, more Japanese-inspired than traditional Japanese: according to Lucy Garcia, a frequent collaborator of the Adrià brothers, the two are intent on opening a Nikkei restaurant. Nikkei cuisine is a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors that has recently become quite trendy in Spain. However, even though Garcia tweeted about the plans yesterday, there aren’t any more details to be revealed — after all, things are barely in the planning stages.
While the jump from Mexican to Japanese may seem surprising, Ferran has said that the food at El Bulli has been very Japanese-inspired in recent years, so his experience with Japanese fusion should calm your foodie nerves. Besides, it’s Ferran Adrià — it doesn’t really matter what he cooks. It’s bound to be delicious.
