WATCH: Eric Lee Crashes And Burns On This Week’s Food Network Star
This week’s installment of Food Network Star had contestants serving up sexy reinterpretations of notoriously ugly dishes for New York Fashion Week. While some chefs (read: Team Alton) allowed their creativity and kookiness to shine in fashion-inspired dishes, some floundered. Among them: Eric Lee with his fish sticks and tartar sauce makeover. The challenge started rough from the get go for Eric, who couldn’t find his spring roll wrappers of choice at the grocery store, forcing him to nix his fish stick spring roll idea and recover at the last second. Unfortunately, this didn’t leave much time for presentation prep and the outcome was painful. Winning last night’s challenge was Justin, with an inventive checkerboard presentation of beef stroganoff. He and the rest of Team Alton were safe while Eric faced Ippy in the Pitch Room. Ultimately, Giada De Laurentiis‘s low-key Hawaiian cuisine-repping contestant survived The Producer’s Challenge.
