Everyone’s hopping on the pumpkin train! It’s September, which means the kick-off of pumpkin spice latte season, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cream cheese, pumpkin aioli, and pumpkin-fried steak. Okay, we made up the last two, but pumpkin-fried steak sounds about as real as pumpkin guacamole, and that’s what Hugh Acheson brought to CBS Atlanta this morning. Showing off some “family taco night” ideas on the news show, he smushed together a chunky guac with avocados, Fresno chili, cilantro, cumin, and, yes, pumpkin. Leave it to a Top Chef judge to show us how to cook delicious Mexican late-night drunk food that’s also seasonal! Now, who wants to make pumpkin mimosas and go pumpkin picking?
