Imbibe & Inspire’s ‘The Roots of American Foodways’ Conference All-Star Line-Up; Plus, How You Can Attend for Free!

Imbibe & Inspire is taking over the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront Hotel on Sunday, September 29th for an entire day of food culture nerding out in a conference entitled: “The Roots of American Foodways.”

From 10am-5pm, a stellar lineup of food personalities will assemble for “eight interactive presentations dissecting American gastronomy, from its roots to recent reinventions.” And that programming lineup is as follows:

Kyle Connaughton: “Tracing Americas Palate for Umami: The Fifth Tastes Emergence in American Cuisine Culture”

Dave Beran & Francis Lam: “Telling Stories Through Meals and Menus”

Ed Lee: “The Anthro(a)pology of the ‘Other’ American Cuisine”

Hugh Acheson: “Don’t Eat The Red Herring: The Quest to Define American Food”

Will Guidara: “Establishing Cultural Roots”

Alex Stupak: “Reverse Colonization”

Melanie Dunea: “Food Porn: Painting & Photos”

Tickets will run you $250 for access to the 10am-5pm conference, plus an 8-course dinner with beverage pairings, with all proceeds benefitting Share Our Strength. But!
