The Rising Star award is always one of the most exciting at the James Beard Awards. The honor is given to “A chef age 30 or younger who displays an impressive talent and who is likely to make a significant impact on the industry in years to come.” Past winners include Momofuku Milk Bar’s Christina Tosi, David Chang, Grant Achatz, Andrew Carmellini, Marcus Samuelsson, Traci Des Jardins, Bobby Flay, and Todd English.
