WATCH: Jamie Oliver Schools Today Show Hosts On Scallops’ Sex Lives
Jamie Oliver, everyone’s favorite Today Show cooking host, was on the show yet again to deliver a rather sedate (by Jamie’s standards) segment. Sure, he directed the cameraman while on-air, and he showered the anchors with compliments and pet names, but watching him this morning didn’t make us feel as if we needed an entire pot of coffee to keep up.
Before he could cook his scallop dish, though, Jamie had to assure Al Roker that he loved him just as much as he loved Savannah Guthrie and Natalie Morales. When did the Today anchors get so needy? Then, never one to miss a teaching moment, Jamie decided to educate the audience about scallops in the most awkward way possible: by mentioning the fact that they’re hermaphroditic.
They have a beautiful thing that we all aspire to: these don’t need partners. They are hermaphrodites, they make love to themselves. They have a simple life. They have no doghouse, you know, it’s all good.
We’re glad you feel comfortable enough to share, Jamie, but maybe it would be better to wait until after the cooking segment? Maybe he just needed to get some things off his chest.
