New Face of KFC Made a Career Mocking Fast Food

During last night’s Super Bowl, Jim Gaffigan was revealed to be the new Colonel Sanders in KFC commercials. He replaced Norm Macdonald, who replaced Darrell Hammond. Watch the spot below:

It’s an interesting choice. Everyone knows Gaffigan loves to eat. His first book, published in 2013, is called “Dad is Fat.” The second, which came out in 2014 is titled “Food: A Love Story.” He talks about food more than almost any other topic, and, to be fair, he probably does love fried chicken, because it’s delicious.

But, while the comedian makes no bones about how much he eats, he doesn’t always paint fast food in the greatest light. He’s essentially made a career of his “hot pocket” bit, and it doesn’t end there. Here are some of Gaffigan’s best food jokes:

McDonald’s

“It’s fun telling people you go to McDonald’s. They always give you that look like, ‘Oh! I didn’t know I was better than you.'”

Bologna

“It’s not just a meat, it’s an insult.”

Waffle House

“If you’ve never been to a Waffle House, just imagine a gas station bathroom that serves waffles.”

Cinnabon

“Tell me that place isn’t run by Satan.”

Kale

“Can we stop with the kale propaganda? That stuff tastes like bug spray.”

Bacon

“You wanna know how good bacon is? To improve other food they wrap it in bacon. If it weren’t for bacon, we wouldn’t even know what a water chestnut is.”

Cake

“If you eat a whole pizza, people are like ‘wow, you were hungry,’ but if you eat a whole cake people are like ‘you got a problem.'”

And, the crown jewel: “Hot Pockets”

“Hottttttt Pocket”
