Julia Child Gets Her Own Comic Book

Though the words “Julia Child” and “comic book” may seem an odd pairing, a publisher has announced that as part of their comic book series celebrating the lives of famous and influential women, they will soon release a 32-page biographical comic about the influential television chef.
Part of the Female Force series, Julia Child’s issue will ”transport you back in time, through Child’s days in Paris where she learned to cook at Le Cordon Bleu, as she wrote her famous cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and to her days as a popular television host.”
“I’ve always had a fondness for Julia Child with her strange look and gentle giant demeanor. I found her life very interesting and certainly a worthy foot note in history,” said writer Michael Troy in a press release.
While we’d urge you to watch Meryl Streep in that one movie instead, the book will be available in both print and digital editions. But we’re really interested in reading the comic book they’ll soon publish about modern-day food media juggernaut Martha Stewart. (How do you draw an insider trading scandal?)
