WATCH: Creepy Lamb Butchering Robots Will Swear You Off Factory Farmed Meat Forever

Do you remember those happy videos from Mister Rogers where we’d see things being made in a factory, like crayons or trumpets? This is kind of like that, except with knife-wielding robots systematically butchering lambs. It’s not a happy video, and we’re going to rate this Not Safe For Life.

This robotic factory line goes through hundreds of lamb carcasses a day, butchering them using x-ray technology to get precise cuts along each individual bone. The freaky thing, though, is how the robotic arms move so fluidly, almost as if a human is actually cutting along the leg joints. Then you remember that these are robots with knives and sawblades, and you get a terrifying glimpse into the future of the meat industry — cold, unfeeling, infinitely powerful — and you run screaming into Chris Cosentino’s arms, sobbing that you’ll cut down your meat consumption and only eat humanely-raised lambs from now on.

What’s wrong with efficiency??? Would you rather it be done by a minimum-wage earning human with questionable hygiene and work ethic?
