Indie Scoop: David Chang advises aspiring chefs not to go into cooking unless they love doing the dishes. So… that rules out pretty much everyone, then.

Eater: The latest in viral foodies videos is “Mixologist”, a rap song about the crazy world of molecular gastronomic cocktails. If you’ve ever thought of it, someone on the Internet has already set it to music and filmed the video.

Grub Street: The staff at Momofuku Noodle Bar took down the names of everyone who was still on line to eat Ivan Orkin’s ramen when the noodles ran out to ensure that they will get a chance to try Ivan’s food. Now that’s “customer satisfaction guaranteed”.

New York Post: Critic Steve Cuozzo is really angry that there is a “boutique” water store that sells trumped up tap water for $2.50 a bottle, and so he ranted about it in his column. Wait, back up: how does water become “boutique” in the first place?

USA Today: In addition to corn and soy, the drought is expected to drive up the prices of milk and other dairy products. Does anybody know a rain dance, perhaps?

Gawker: The menu for the proposed 2030 mission to Mars is entirely vegan. Cue the “send all of the vegans to Mars” jokes in 3, 2, 1…
