Eater LA: The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck is staging a pop-up in Los Angeles with a possible permanent truck or brick-and-mortar store to come. If we have to share Doug and Bryan with LA, we will positively throw A FIT.

Serious Eats: McDonald’s China is rolling out a duo of black and white sliders. As in, one burger’s bun is black and the other one is white. It’s supposed to represent the ancient Chinese concept of oh wait, nobody knows.

Daily Meal: The Local Drunk App now exists. It’s like Grindr, but for alcoholics, instead of cruising gay men. If you’re new to a city, the app will pair you with a local barfly who shares similar interests based on a profile you create, then it connects you two over Facebook, so your new friend can show you around the best bars. Okay, so it’s not exactly like Grindr, but it is designed to help you find a drinking buddy, which smacks of an impending hookup.

Eater: Why didn’t anyone tell us Noma’s pastry chef Rosio Sanchez was a stone fox? Oh, probably because they were too distracted by the dessert of ant paste she was presenting.
