Daniel Boulud Switches Canadian Coasts: Maison Boulud Opens In Montreal
After recently closing two restaurants in Vancouver, BC due to its “challenging” seafood-scape, Daniel Boulud has switched coasts to open Maison Boulud in Montreal. The new resto is nestled inside the Ritz-Carlton, which boasts a $150 million renovation price tag. Maison Boulud will be serving up “refined yet soulful contemporary French food,” for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, presumably free of the touch-and-go fish hazards of Vancouver, since the fare is billed to be “driven by the seasons and bounty of Québec’s local purveyors.”
Maison Boulud’s other location is all the way in Beijing, so we’ll see how it translates in North America. Executive chef Ricardo Bertolino has a four-year track record working in Daniel Boulud’s eateries, including stints at Daniel, DBGB Kitchen and Bar, Cafe Boulud and db Bistro Moderne Singapore.
Bienvenue à Montréal, Chef!
