David Kinch Catches Emergency Flight Back to California To Handle Manresa Fire
Just a year after a fire significantly damaged Alice Waters’ NoCal institution Chez Panisse, another fire has ravaged nearby Bay Area restaurant Manresa, which holds two Michelin stars and is helmed by David Kinch.
The restaurant had been closed for the holiday weekend, so no one was inside when the fire broke out this morning. According to the New York Times, “Local firefighters put out the blaze, which caused damage to the roof, kitchen and service area of the restaurant…The cause of the fire is being investigated.”
Kinch had been visiting the East Coast but hopped a flight back to California this morning. No one is reported to be hurt.
