Mario Batali To Spend Weekend With Bill Clinton Eating, Golfing, And Raising A Bajillion Dollars
You will never have imagined an unlikelier duo than Mario Batali and former President Bill Clinton, but when you start thinking about it more, it makes a kind of strange sense. Both are jolly, voracious eaters, both champion fairly progressive causes, and both are probably concerned with the state of their cardiovascular system after a lifetime of eating heavy foods.
Oh, and they both are going to spend a weekend in September raising money for the Mario Batali Foundation with a host of their celebrity friends. And you could go, too!
On September 9th, Del Posto is hosting a dinner for Clinton, where he’ll receive an award for being a humanitarian-ly inclined ex-president. During his performance at the event, Jimmy Fallon will likely fall over in excitement.
Then on September 10th, Batali and Clinton will golf at the 3rd Annual Swing Session Celebrity Golf Classic, a classic where all the celebrities…are chefs! April Bloomfield, Mark Ladner, Michael White, and Cesare Casella are all slated to golf with the ex-president, and together they’ll try to whack balls onto Manhattan. (Michael Bloomberg and The Edge showed up last year too, so maaaaaaybe there’ll be some other semi-cool people there.)
All funds from the event will go to the Mario Batali Foundation, whose mission is to help feed, educate, and send clogs to America’s children. (Okay, we made the clog part up.)
