MasterChef Finalist Josh Marks Found Dead in Apparent Suicide

News reports say that season 3 MasterChef finalist, Josh Marks, has been found dead in Chicago in what appears to be a suicide.

Chicago police responded to a 911 call, where a women found a male body with an apparent gunshot wound to the head in an alley. The Chicago Tribune reports that two relatives of Marks and an acquaintance were already at the scene when the police arrived, who said he was struggling with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and was “distraught.”

This follows a very public arrest in Chicago three months ago, where Marks told police that he was possessed by MasterChef judge Gordon Ramsay, “who turned [him] into God.” The scuffle, in which it took five policemen to control him, left a wake of trouble for the young chef. His family released a statement, saying he was a “gentle giant,” but sponsors had already begun to withdraw their support for Marks.

The MasterChef judges, Graham Elliot and Ramsay, took to Twitter to express their condolences. (No word yet from Joe Bastianich, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.)

A very sad ending for a clearly troubled man.
