Which Chicago Chef Is Ripping Off Mugaritz Recipes?
Somewhere in Chicago, someone is copying the dishes of famous Michelin three-star restaurants like Alinea, Mugaritz, and Meadowood of San Francisco.
“Has it ever crossed your mind,” the anonymous Chicago critic tweeted testily last Friday, “that I may have been to Alinea or Mugaritz or Meadowood or France & know who you are copying?”
The internet is speculating that one of Chicago’s restaurants may receive a star downgrade, so Chicago readers: any idea which chef/restaurant serves some sort of bizarre blend of molecular gastronomy and seasonal produce and is arrogant enough to think they can get away with it?
