WATCH: Morimoto Salts And Peppers A Homemade Beer Slushie, Blows Our Minds

Were we surprised when Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto constructed a beautiful wagyu beef slider on VH1′s Big Morning Buzz today in honor of his upcoming turn at the SoBe Wine and Food Festival Burger Bash? We weren’t. Were we surprised when he, like some sort of sushi Rain Man, blindly ranked NYC restaurant sushi, Penn Station sushi, and drug store sushi just by looking, touching, smelling, and never tasting it? We weren’t.

Pretty much the only Morimoto move that blew our minds this morning was the creation of an Amstel Light beer shake (which is really more of a beer slushie — totally vegan!), somehow created with an immersion blender, but which never fizzed over, which he then salted and peppered to taste. The man is an Iron Chef for a reason. This is that reason.
