Moto’s Homaro Cantu To Maybe Take Over Charlie Trotter’s Abandoned Restaurant
Now that Charlie Trotter is dead retired and studying philosophy, the question remains: what’s going to happen to his old restaurant? Eater Chicago has a tip that moto chef Homaro Cantu is looking into buying the old brownstone where Trotter Revolutionized The Chicago Restaurant Scene.
Cantu, who also trained under Trotter, has been looking for a place to put his upcoming brewery, Outside The Box, and so far plans to lease certain spaces have fallen through. His response to Eater was cryptic: “no comment…yet.”
As long as Trotter doesn’t choke Cantu, we say go for it.
