No No No No No: Taco Bell Parent Company Reportedly Testing Banh Mi Concept

Yum! Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, KFC, and so many other places, is reportedly looking to brutalize the banh mi sandwich as it did to tacos and fried chicken.

According to Escape Hatch Dallas, the restaurant/torture chamber will be known as the Banh Shop, and it’s supposed to take residence near Southern Methodist University. (Yum! recently had success with Super Chix, their attempt at competing with Chick-fil-A, so it’s clearly looking for Big Bux.) There’s hope yet, though: Banh Shop is reportedly a “stealth concept,” meaning that Yum!’s simply testing whether a banh mi superchain is plausible, let alone profitable.

Which means we can kill it in the cradle! Don’t go to this shop. It represents a terrifying, dark future. We have the chance to pull a Terminator, without the time traveling robots! Come on guys! Do it for our future generations!

  1. Tina “Tomato sauce is not A Thing (in Vietnamese food)” Nguyen is going to lecture us about what is real Vietnamese food? (parenthesis added). Good luck with that.
