Orlando Restaurant Fires Employees By Text Like A Teenage Boy
Normal occurrence: the staff of an Orlando restaurant were all recently fired. Abnormal occurrence: they were all fired via text message.
According to the New York Daily News, Jodi Jackson of Barducci’s Italian Bistro in Winter Park, Fla learned on July 4th that the restaurant “unfortunately need[ed] to inform [her] that i have been forced to close Barducci’s effective immediately,” via text, as if owner Gregory Kennedy was some character from Sex And The City.
Even worse, when local station WFTV tried to contact Kennedy, they got this text message:
“Unfortunately businesses are forced to close across Orlando every day especially in the restaurant sector,” he wrote. “I am working to resolve issues including final paychecks as quickly as possible.”
The employees state that they still haven’t received their final paychecks from Kennedy, which, honey, come on: he’s just not that into (financial compensating) you.
