Top Chef: Texas Winner Paul Qui To Open His Own Restaurant

The good news keeps rolling in for Top Chef: Texas winner Paul Qui. First, he saved us all from living in a world in which the ever-so-slightly obnoxious Sarah Grueneberg holds a Top Chef title (she was his runner-up). He also won a James Beard Award earlier this week for Best Chef: Southwest. Now, Paul’s East Side King partner-in-crime Motoyasu “Moto” Utsunomiya has leaked that the Top Chef is opening his own restaurant.
The two met working at Uchiko and decided to open a food truck called East Side King together. By the way, that Asian-Texan fusion truck is getting its own brick-and-mortar storefront up and running soon, too. Moto was talking up its opening and threw in that Paul was also working on a solo restaurant project. Two Paul Qui restaurants opening at once? Sounds like deep-fried, ginger-sauced heaven.
