Does NYC Resto Phillipe Have A Secret Pot-Smoking Chamber For Celebs?
According to four employees of Upper East Side hotspot Phillipe, the restaurant hides pot-smoking celebrities in a secret room, so they can dine in a truly enlightened, food-appreciative state. They’re also suing the restaurant for reasons that aren’t entirely clear to us, and while New York Daily News says no celebs have been named in the suit, it does note that Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross have been seated in the basement before. What? They just wanted to be closer to the chefs! Feel the fast-paced restaurant kitchen energy!
CEO Stratis Morfogen calls the suit a “form of extortion,” insisting, “We do not allow smoking of legal cigarettes in our restaurants, so obviously we strongly deny these ridiculous accusations.”
Are the accusations that ridiculous? Roberta’s serves journalists marijuana tasting menus in a (presumably) secretive dinner service. Mightn’t Phillipe just be spreading the love to celebs as well? Celebs are people, too! Then again, no one’s tattling on Roberta’s in lawsuits. Sigh. We can’t all be as cool as Brooklyn.
Not that we’d ever inhale, of course.
