WATCH: Neither Guy Fieri Nor Rachael Ray Can Figure Out How To Turn On A Stove

How many Food Network stars should it take to turn on a stove, you guys? Just, like, a ballpark estimate. Well, if Guy Fieri and Rachael Ray are the stars in question, you had better call for backup. Go ahead and consider them the WORST. Survivor castaways. Ever. Rachael invited Guy onto the second episode of her show this season to show off some of the dishes from his newly opened Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar in Times Square, but, unfortunately, before they could take off into cheesy-burger-splosion-land, they had to first figure out how to fire up the griddle.

First of all, we’re appalled that after all this talk about a brand new set and a brand new studio, Rachael couldn’t shell out the extra couple grand for an induction stove-top. Gas flames? What is this, the Stone Age? Anyway, Guy did his best to cook over some mysterious clicking noises that were emanating from the stove, while Rachael futzed with the knobs.

Eventually, neither she nor Guy could get the flame back, so they had to call one of the backstage food stylists out to fix it. Thank goodness for sous chefs, huh, Rach? Needless to say, this whole encounter made us feel justified in bristling at the beginning of the segment, when Rachael introduced her guest as Chef Guy Fieri. Shudder.

Check out the stove-top malfunction below.
