Sam Sifton And Roy Choi Share Spiritual Connection Over Beer Can Chicken
Over at the New York Times: Sam Sifton took a trip to Los Angeles to visit taco shaman Roy Choi, and delved deep into the lyrical madness that is Choi’s mind and food. For instance, Sifton wondered, why did Choi continue to serve meat after he published a widely-reprinted blog post questioning the consumption of meat?
“It was just a diary entry,” he said over beer-can chicken and glazed ribs at A-Frame, his converted IHOP in Culver City, shrugging as if to recall the Jay-Z lyric: “Just my thoughts.”
So yeah, says Sifton, everyone, stop making wild-ass pronouncements about what Roy Choi is doing with his life.
