Team USA Officially Places Seventh At The Bocuse d’Or
Team USA, comprising of chefs Corey Siegel, Gavin Kaysen, and Richard Rosendale, finished in seventh place overall at this year’s Bocuse d’Or. (The winner? France. Because of course. The rest of the winners can be found here.)
Team mentor Thomas Keller tweeted that Sweden beat Team USA by a slim seven points, but still guaranteed America’s best showing since 2011. However, it’s still below Timothy Hollingsworth’s sixth place finish in 2009, which remains the highest that the US has ever placed in the Bocuse d’Or.
“I’m proud of the effort we put forth today and while I’m disappointed we didn’t finish higher up, I know that Corey and I gave it our all,” Rosendale said in a statement. “I’m extremely thankful for all the great support we’ve received from our coaches, the Foundation and board members, the team at The Greenbrier, and our families. It’s been a privilege for us both to represent our country at this competition and one we will never forget.”
