Teen’s Essay on Ramen Noodles Gets Him Into College; Stoners Everywhere Inspired

Now, someone write a college essay on Taco Bell, and we’ll compare notes.

Evidently, finding your passion in a packet of ramen noodles can work out pretty well for you. An 18-year old identified only as Wang, living in Fuzhou, Fujian province, wrote an all-out confessional about his love for instant ramen that landed him an acceptance to the University of Rochester.

The acceptance letter, which Wang posted on social media network Sina Weibo, went viral in part because it is the best acceptance letter ever:

Each Rochester student makes a critical, personal contribution to campus from day one. The counselors recommended that you be admitted in part after reading about your enthusiasm for Ramen noodles. The committee and I are confident you will both stand out and grow stronger as part of the Rochester family.

Amaze-balls. Although Wang hasn’t released the essay, he revealed that it was a narrative of his attempt to try every flavor of Asian-branded ramen noodles. We will eagerly await an instant ramen-only food blog from Wang (and job offers at every food publication because of it).
