The Best Stand-Up Comedy Bits About Food, Part 1

Whether you want it there or not (and if you’re reading this, let’s be honest, you do), food is creeping its way into every aspect of our lives. It’s pretty much taken over the 2016 election, (maybe now John Kasich actually will host a Food Network Show) and general interest in food (watching it, reading about it) is at an all-time high. Stand-up comics were ahead of the curve, and have been joking about our favorite thing for years. We’ve rounded up some of the best of them for your enjoyment:

1. Jerry Seinfeld – The Supermarket Experience

“Milk is a big problem for people in the supermarket, they’re never quite sure if they have it, if they need it.”

2. Louis C.K.  – Cinnabon

“Let me explain Cinnabon to those of you with self-respect.”

3. Greg Giraldo – Room for Dessert / Death by Chocolate / Lent / Snacks

“Death by chocolate! How spoiled do you have to be as a culture to trivialize death like that?”

4. Patton Oswalt – The Ham Incident

“Here’s another sweatpants story…”

5. Pete Holmes – Conan O’Brien Appearance, 2011

“Tuna melts, dad style!”

6. Jim Gaffigan – McDonald’s

“It’s fun telling people you go to McDonald’s, they always give you that look, like, ‘I didn’t know I was better than you.'”

7. Ellen Degeneres – Flight Attendants, Peanuts, Airplane Food

“Salads are always two pieces of dead lettuce. Salad dressing comes in that astronaut package, so as soon as you open it it’s on your neighbor’s lap.”
