The Country’s Most Gun-Friendly Restaurant Also Country’s Most Terrifying Restaurant
A serving of the Second Amendment, if you will. We’ll pass.
Eater finds a little profile of Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colo. (can’t make that shit up), where there’s guns galore — and not just packed by the diners. Nope, your friendly waitress is also packing guns, evidently — but it’s cool because Jesus is also there:
[Owner Lauren] Boebert was born in Florida, raised in Aurora and moved to Rifle in 2003, where she met her husband, Jayson. They decided to open a restaurant a little more than a year ago and tried to come up with a good name that would suit the town.
“I consulted with my Christian friends and everyone said ‘Shooters’ sounded like a bar or a strip joint,” Lauren Boebert said with a laugh. “But I thought, this is Rifle — it was founded around guns and the Old West. We called it Shooters and started throwing guns and Jesus all over the place.”
And should you like to carry your gun in the restaurant but don’t have a concealed carry permit, Shooter’s offers courses for $75 with your dinner. But hey, Rifle is apparently a very, very safe city, with almost no crime reported — but that doesn’t mean your friendly waitress and owner aren’t ready at a moment’s notice to fire. We’ll head up to Denver and Boulder and hang at those stoner restaurants instead, but thanks.
