Todd English Admits That Naked Hot Tub Parties Aren’t The Best Idea
Most articles about Todd English these days contain a combination of the following words: “naked,” “topless,” “hot tub,” “models,” and/or “groooosssss.” In a preview of a New York Observer interview with Allen Salkin, English admits that, yes, he’s seen those articles in the wake of the unfortunate photo that ran in Page Six in March, and yes, he’s gonna chill with the naked hot tub clubbing.
“It’s much better that I stay behind a hot stove than in a hot tub,” he told Salkin, and we were all, uh, DUH.
“The fact that it was that one moment I get scrutinized for, it’s very frustrating,” he added. “I’m home in bed by 11 o’clock usually . . . In my restaurants, there’s always somebody there to celebrate something. They want me to come out. My staff knows: Make sure that’s sparkling water in my Champagne glass. I don’t want to go down that path of being the center of the party.”
While that makes total sense — and we’ve known many chefs who simply stay sober during their parties — you know what also helps celebrity chefs and business owners avoid this scrutiny? Staying out of clubs with topless models. It’s an obvious correlation, really.
