Todd English Hires Alicia Keys’s Vocal Coach To Achieve Voice Of A Diva
The New York Post’s Page Six, which has consistently proven itself to be the best source for all Todd English-related news, drops another story in our lap: the famously overextended chef is reportedly working with a prominent R&B vocal coach.
The mystery source, who seems to be extraordinarily well-informed on everything that goes on in English’s life, hints that the vocal coach is none other than Craig Derry, who’s worked with Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige, Wyclef Jean, and Alicia Keys. With his help, English will finally achieve the voice that matches his image: that of a soulful, theatrical diva, whose rich contralto voice spans three octaves.
Apparently, English once played guitar with a band at New York City’s Bitter End, but is now reportedly looking to front his own band. We honestly cannot see English fronting a soul/R&B band, unless he chronicles the horrible breakup he had with ex-girlfriend Erica Wang and turns it into some chefly version of Adele’s 21.
