Top 5 Celebrity Chef Scandals of 2015

The celebrity chef scene is heating up and it’s not because of the delicious recipes stewing in the kitchen.  As much as we’d like to think these A-list food lovers’ personalities are exactly the same off screen, they’re only human like the rest of us.

Here are the top five celebrity chef scandals.

5. Jose Andres

Celebrity Chef, Jose Andres backed out of a restaurant with Donald Trump after his remarks about undocumented immigrant Mexicans. Technically, he breach his contract with Trump, which resulted in a lawsuit from the Republican candidate for $10 million.

The Spanish-born chef fired back at Trump by countersuing him for $8 million. He stated:

“More than half of my team is Hispanic, as are many of our guests.  And, as a proud Spanish immigrant and recently naturalized American citizen myself, I believe that every human being deserves respect, regardless of immigration status.”

4. Anthony Bourdain

It’s no secret that Anthony Bourdain had a lot to say this year about fellow celebrity chefs. From Guy Fieri to Rachel Ray, Bourdain let theses on-screen food personalities have it.

3. Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay

Both Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay recently divorced their spouses and immediately made headlines about their alleged affair. It was reported that De Laurentiis left her husband to pursue her relationship with fellow chef Flay.

While rumors are still circulating the two Food Network stars have yet to confirm their relationship. The next few months will be interesting; do you think the food duo will announce their relationship or will these rumors be put to rest soon?

2. Paula Deen

Paula Deen had to do a lot of damage control within the last few years. Who could forget when the celebrity chef posted a photo advertising her new mom and son restaurant using a “mammy figure.” That situation in itself sparked Internet outrage.

This year Deen was at it again and posted a photo of her son dressed as Ricky Ricardo for her “I Love Lucy” segment, but… her son’s face was painted brown. As you can imagine this photo did not sit well with fans (yet again).

The southern chef also hid the fact that she had diabetes and continued to promote her unhealthy food to fans. She was called out by many, Anthony Bourdain in particular.

This year Deen was a guest on “Dancing with the Stars,” but watching the celebrity chef dance in front of millions of viewers wasn’t enough to forget the scandals that surrounded the southern bell. Hopefully Paul Deen will steer clear of controversy in 2016.

1. Matthew Tivy

Of all the MasterChef incidences, this one takes the cake. We all remember Matthew Tivy right?

The celebrity chef had quite the track record for his culinary career with a restaurant in the Upper West Side of New York City and an appearance on  Food Network’s “Chef Du Jour,” and threw it all away for a night of pleasure with a teenage boy in the parking lot of a Best Buy in the Bronx.

If this isn’t considered a top celebrity chef scandal, we don’t know what is.
