WATCH: A Julia Child Supercut Set To Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’

August 15, 2012 would have been Julia Child’s 100th Birthday. In honor of the woman who first taught the world how to “Master the Art of French Cooking”, PBS is holding a week-long celebration. Today, though, they decided to get the party started a little early, and so it was time to break out the classic rock.

Choosing the perfect music to go with a supercut of Julia’s best moments is undoubtedly daunting. So what does WGBH, the Boston branch of PBS do? They go with the most famous song with “child” in the title. That’s right: “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N Roses. It may be an unlikely pick, but the really strange thing here is not that they chose the song at all. It’s the fact that it actually works really well paired with clips from The French Chef.

Now we can’t help picturing Axl Rose cooking dinner with Julia Child. Sure, it’s not as catchy as Julie and Julia, but it would be infinitely more entertaining.

Check out the (surprisingly awesome) video below!
