WATCH: Eddie Huang Lands His Own Show With VICE
Once upon a time, Eddie Huang did a show for the Cooking Channel. Then, everything changed when he opened his mouth.
But thank goodness he left that deal, because now that he’s with VICE.com, he gets to actually be himself. “There are no producers on this show telling me to lift that lid again, take another bite, really mean it when you bite it and tell the viewers how good it is even though it blatantly tastes like a rotten Haight Street Birkenstock,” he crowed on his blog when he announced the show, Fresh Off The Boat, this morning. (Dear VICE: please send Eddie Huang to North Korea. That’s an instant Emmy right there.)
The dude may be fresh off the boat (figuratively speaking in terms of his brand), but he’s already fallen in love with the second amendment, if the below trailer is a good representation of what this show’s going to be like. Hello, America! How are you doing with Eddie Huang prowling your streets?
