We were hoping that last night Gordon Ramsay would become the third judge to weep his way through MasterChef, but, of course, he wouldn’t oblige us. However, the third season of the show broke more ground last night when, for the first time in the history of the competition, the judges gave a cheftestant a second taste.
Gordon and Joe Bastianich both shut down Stacey, a recently sober, tattooed goddess who credited cooking with her ability to maintain her sobriety. The two judges claimed her audition steak was sub-par, but Graham Elliot went to bat for her. After she walked out of the room empty-handed, Graham encouraged his fellow judges to taste the dish again and reconsider.
