WATCH: Poor Mark Ballas Doesn’t ‘Have A Say’ In Avoiding A Waltz With Paula Deen On DWTS
Look, no one actually thinks about the moral cost of being a famous, nationally-televised professional dancer when they start out. There’s a paycheck, and glitzy costumes, and the “making the money that a professional dancer would never make” part — but what if, as people are speculating, you’d have to earn your dough by dancing with Famous Racist Paula Deen?
Mark Ballas, one of said professional dancers on Dancing With The Stars, told TMZ that he has absolutely no say in the matter. “I can’t put up a fight,” he told the ambusher-razzi, adding that it was a producer decision on who gets to dance with whom.
Why do we get the horrible, sinking feeling that the producers might pair Deen with a male dancer of minority status? Why, why why why why? (Maybe it’s because this is also the show that accepted disgraced former House Majority leader Rep. Tom DeLay on the show in a ridiculous elephant costume.)
