We Cannot Wait to go to Sonja Morgan’s Upcoming Restaurant, Tipsy Girl

The day is here. What is the day? It’s the day that we can finally start covering one Sonja Morgan on The Braiser, because Sonja Morgan is now a restaurateur, as evidenced by the brick and mortar soon-to-be restaurant on 8th Street in Manhattan with a Tipsy Girl awning. We can barely contain our excitement.

The current season of The Real Housewives of New York City has one Sonja Morgan embroiled in a battle with Bethenny Frankel of Skinny Girl fame over whether or not Sonja should have called her Prosecco brand Tipsy Girl (she shouldn’t have). But what’s done is done, and it appears that Tipsy Girl is not only real, but it’s both a Prosecco and a restaurant, and it’s happening right in Greenwich Village.

According to Page Six, the restaurant, which as of now is set to open in mid-July is 2,000 square feet. A rep for the restaurant told the post that Morgan’s partner, Peter Guimaraes “wants it to be a place [where] everyone feels comfortable and at home with great food, drinks and friends…No pretentious staff with attitudes like so many other hot spots in this city. When you come to Tipsy Girl, you become part of the family and treated as such” He added that “the menu will be fun, sharing plates that pair well with our wines . . . The drinks menu will include many varietals of Bellinis mixed with Tipsy Girl Prosecco.”

Wherever you fall on the Bethenny/Sonja issue, there’s no denying they’re having some trouble with people thinking they’re copycats. They’ve already had to explain their wall art:

No word yet on what the menu items will be, but we’ll be checking back frequently. We literally cannot wait to eat at this restaurant. Cheers!
